27th International Congress of the Fe.Me.S.P.Rum.

Dear Colleagues,

it is with great honor and enthusiasm that I invite you to the 27^th International Congress of the Mediterranean Federation for Health and Production of Ruminants (Fe.Me.S.P.Rum.), to be held in Bologna, Italy, from September 4 to 6, 2025.

As outlined in its statutes, Fe.Me.S.P.Rum. continues its mission to unite field veterinarians, academics, researchers, animal scientists, and policymakers who are dedicated to advancing the health and production of ruminants in the Mediterranean region. This congress represents a vital platform for sharing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and addressing both longstanding and emerging challenges in our field.

Bologna, a city renowned for its rich academic heritage and historical significance, holds a special connection to Fe.Me.S.P.Rum. It was here, during the “International Conference on Bovine Health and Production in the Mediterranean Area” on May 3-4, 1988, that the vision for a collaborative network among Mediterranean countries was first conceived. This vision gained momentum during the XX Congress of the Italian Association for Buiatrics later that year and came to fruition in 1991 with the inaugural Fe.Me.S.P.Rum. Congress in Alghero, Italy.

Now, over 35 years later, we are thrilled to return to Bologna, where it all began, to host this milestone event. We are confident that the 27^th Congress will provide a unique opportunity for friends and colleagues to reconnect, exchange innovative ideas, and strengthen partnerships in a spirit of shared purpose and camaraderie.
